The HDD performance was getting slower and slower. i ran scandisk and when I came back to check "BLUE SCREEN" I replace dthe HDD but woudl like toattempt data recovery. Purchased an encasement 5.25" but all I get is an initial whiring and click, click (bit more than a click but not a clunk). What type of HDD failure do you think I have. Quotes for recovery are prohibitive so I thought why not have a go yourself. It personal data, photos etc. In your experience what would guess I am looking at spindle, alignment.
