HDDVD to Blu-ray?

Question

I have a PS3 and really want to get Transformers in HD (as well as the Bourne series), but those are all in HDDVD only. I've heard some rumors about the PS3 being able to read HDDVD's if you install Linux on them. Are these true? If not, is there a way I can convert an HDDVD to Blu-ray Disc format? PS3 can play Blu-ray files now without the need for a disc, so I dont need to know how to burn a bluray, just convert the HDDVD files to Blu-ray files. Thanks

impossible due to encrypted codecs. the normal dvd version will upconvert on a ps3 which will work until paramount gets the hd-dvd stick out of their butts. make sure upconverting is turned on ...

NO way to do this.  They are a different format.

Just buy an HD-DVD player. They start at $200 now for the 720p version. I bought both due to the different movie studios choosing the different formats.
