HDMI Cable affecting the screen size while playing Xbox 360.?

I just bought a HDMI cable to connect my TV and Xbox 360. It works, although it has decreased the screen size. It is cut off on one side and there is a black strip down the other. I have tried adjusting the screen size but it only centres it with no result.

I would say ure TV is in the wrong setting, i would go into the last blade on dashboard (purple one) and go to the tv setting to see if your in 1080i it may of changed to 720p or something.
