HDMI Cabling?

I have Sony Home Theatre Receiver which has component and HDMI inputs/outputs. My question is if I connect my DVD player to Receiver via Component cables (as DVD does not have HDMI out) then can I connect my LCT TV with Reciver via HDMI cable (as receiver and TV both have HDMI)?? Or it has to be HDMI - IN the receiver then only it can be HDMI - OUT from it.

  1. This receiver does not have an internal analog to digital converter.  What you want to do will not work.  Sorry.

  2. This will only work if your receiver has an up-converter in it.  If it does it will take what ever what ever you plug into it and upscale it to your TV.  Be it Composite, Component, or HDMI.  If not you will only be able to go component to the receiver then component to the TV.

If you would need more cables for this get them at www.monoprice.com.
