HDMI Help!!!?

Okay I have a 40" Plasma Sony Tv. I bought an HDMI cable for my PS3 and everything works out pretty good since I set it up. Well, I don't have internet so I usually go to my friends house to update my PS3 but he only has a regular TV. Well, I plugged in everything at his house and all I get is the blue screen. (Ya' member the blue screen from the VCR settings.) I change the channel and that's all I get. I plug in the HDMI cable back into the PS3 back at my home and everything works. What's wrong and how do I take off that screen so I can get a picture off a regular TV? Do I have to redo the settings or what? HELP !

Taking a shot at this because i don't have a ps3 but does the ps3 have a output choice if it does you would have to change it to what u have it hooked up to your friends tv . I gathered your friends tv does not have hdmi right?

No you just need to make sure you have it on the right input channel. Like you know video 1 video 2 video3 just go through all those channels, and that should solve your problem.
