HDMI cable gone bad?

i just got verizon fios and i noticed after a few days when i switched from hd to standard channels, i got a tiny static noise when switching from hd to standard or vice versa. but if i stay on just hd or standard the pic is fine with no noises. the guy told me its prob just b/c verizon gave me a cheap hdmi cable and should get another. what do u think?

That is because you are going from high def to standard signals, or vice versa, and your TV is looking for the best quality picture for the type of signal it is receiving. That would happen with which ever carrier you went with.

A lot of people seem to have this problem with Verizon. I think it's their signal and not a bad cable.

it is either the box or the signal itself.. not the cable
