HDMI question concerning output devices...?

So I bought a HDTV that has only 1 HDMI input. My cable boxtop, DVD player, and PS3 all have HDMI outputs. What should I do since I want to use the HDMI for all of my accessories? Is it possible or will I have to use the component cables for 2 of the 3?

  1. Get an HDMI switch

  2. You should just use the HDMI for the ps3. It can play dvds and blu rays, so there is no use for the dvd player, unless you record alot, and even then the HDMI wouldnt make a difference with the recording, only the video output. The cable box should be fine with component since it doesnt broadcast in 1080p uncompressed video anyway.

  3. What you need is an HDMI Switch or Switcher.

These boxes take multiple HDMI inputs from 3-6, and output as on HDMI line. Most of them come with a remote so it makes switching between them super easy.

We sell quite a few different kinds at my website, all with free shipping. They all support Blu-Ray quality 1080p video, and start from 60$.

  4. Erik is right: give the swift boot to the DVD player and just use the PS3. Also, technically, the video over component video is just as good as the video over HDMI, so use the components on your cable box.

  5. Sell the DVD player and buy a HDMI hub instead. They normally have up to four inputs, with the one output for your TV.
