Question

How good is this Camera? Does it have good pixals and ClearVid so it would be clearer When i upload it on Youtube?

Is it compatible with a Mac?

its a really good HD camera. the clearvid thing makes it better, but not that much. you will probably get the same quality on youtube and just pay the extra money. i don't know about the mac thing because i have a windows xp pc.

It is a hard drive based high definition camcorder that saves 1080i in a VERY highly compressed AVCHD format.

Yes, it is "Mac compatible" - but you need to have the most current iMovieHD that came with iLife08 - with an update or the most current FinalCut Express or FinalCut Pro2. And there are a couple of extra steps you need to follow to get to that AVCHD video.

I would STRONGLY suggest staying in the miniDV tape environment, and using firewire to transfer DV or HDV from a Sony HDR-HC7, HC9, Canon HV20 or HV30. DV and HDV do not compress as much as AVCHD.

Compressed video = discarded data = reduced video quality.
