Question:

HDR close contact saddle?

I was wondering if an HDR close contact is a good saddle. I saw it for sale for a little less than $900. I wanted to buy it but i decided to ask around a little to see if it was a good saddle. I would be using it for flat work and jumping and also for showing. Thanks!

  1. I have heard pretty good things. The quality could be a little better, but for the price it is a good deal. I have a Bates Caprilli and I love it. I would recommend that over the HDR but it does cost a little more. If you find a used one it's a good deal though because the interchangeable gullet allows you to fit any horse you would ever ride.

  2. I have never ridden in an HDR, but they are OK saddles.

THEY DO NOT LAST LONG. I know that for a fact, because 3 girls at my barn own HDR pony saddles and the color is rubbing away and there just not up to the quality the pessoa i compared them to is.

But if you dont ride like 6 days a week and show every weekend, it should be a good buy.
