What do you think of HDR photographs? I personally think they are ugly and look over-photoshopped.

  1. I will admit many look a bit - Poster'ish - but I like the ability to reproduce more in the way my eye, and most human eyes, see.

There does seem to be a big bump in over all TONE quality, going to the harsh side often and colors seem over saturated.

I am playing with trying to make HDR images that appear softer and more neutral, hopefully as the human eye saw them, but it's not easy getting there..

In the most part I enjoy looking at HDR images, but I think I know where your coming from..

  2. As with any effect, if it's done well it looks great.  Maybe you're thinking of faux HDR.  I'll admit I've done that a couple times, and it does look kind of artificial.  I'd like to learn true HDR.

  3. This is HDR and it's not over done. It all depends on how you use the software and your intended result. Intense HDR that you speak of is not for everyone.
