  1. Can't really tell the picture is small but it seems like s-video to components I think lol but if it is then yeah you plug the end with one wire into your computer and the components into your t.v to make your laptop display everything on your t.v I do the same thing except with HDMI which is better. (For anyone who thinks I'm talking about going from component to HDMI I'm not it's solely HDMI connection there's no such thing as that lol)

You would have to buy a HDMI cable 1.2 or 1.3 are good and have a HDMI port on your computer HDMI is the best for handling HD as it's digital I use it for 1080p and I dont know of any DVI or RBG connector that turns into HDMI sorry.

  2. Those are "Component video" connectors. You can NOT go from component (analog) to HDMI (digital).

Component video is the highest analog resolution available and is only surpassed by HDMI.  Check your TV for "component in" jacks. There should be a total of five grouped together. Three for the video + two (red and white) for the audio.

If you ever used "Composite video" (yellow RCA connector with PlayStation2 as well as VCR/DVD players), you will see a huge increase in video quality with "component video".

You will have to run a separate "audio cable". Typically computers have the small "tip-and-ring" connector. You can buy a cable adapter that has the small PC plug on one end and two (red/white) connectors on the other end for your audio out.

==> YES! They do sell DVI to HDMI connectors as both are digital signals. I think this configuration will still require a seperate audio cable. HDMI has audio pins inside the cable. I don't think that DVI does which is why the audio won't be included on the HDMI cable, UNLESS they have a DVI with audio input from a seperate cable attached.

edit: THANKS. You have to wait for a few hours before "best answer" opens up for selection.

  3. That's an "s-video - RGB" cable. So, assuming the TV-out on the card is s-video, you'd use the RGB inputs on the TV.
