Ok so in 2006 I took my high school equivalency test and got a high school diploma .its actually what some people call a "GED". so i registered for a community college the year after and so far i have been going two semesters. when i first registered they said everything was fine and they made copies of my diploma. anyways, almost a year has passed and for this current semester i received financial aid. i filled out the FAFSA and my college approved it, and so i received financial aid. Now, I check my info online from my school website and it says that they want my GED scores and that i wasnt supposed to get financial aid because it's not a credited high school. I dont get it, why are they telling me this now? What can happen? Will they want the money back or what?

  1. You should talk to the Financial Aid department as well as an advisor.  Did you just pick a random online school to get your GED?? You dont get a diploma if you get your GED you get a certifacte that looks kinda cheezy.

  2. Go straight to your college's financial aid office, in person, and get this straightened out immediately.  That's the only way to resolve this.

  3. you need to contact someone immediately! they cant take their money, becuz its too late! contact the school and find out whats going on !
