HEI distributor for my carbed lt1?

Question

I'm converting my lt1 to carbureted. i got the intake and carb all worked out, i just need a distributor. i can take the opti spark off and plug the whole, but what about the new distributor? i hear you need an HEI w/ a melonized gear. is this true? where can i get one? i would like a fairly high performance one. thanks

go to summit racing or Jegs...they have what u need ...good tech lines..

first off why would u go back to carbed on an lt1? talk about sending your car a step back.

you can grab any distributor off any 86 to 92 camaro and it will fit, prefferable youll want one with vacuum advance. the stock distributors in those cars were very well designed and need very little upgrade
