  1. Unless your dentist tells you or you are having pain from them you shouldn't need to get them out.  Not everyone has to.

  2. in  most cases, yes, they do have to be pulled. a few lucky people already have room in their mouth for the teeth to grow in, but for the majority of people, there isn't enough room, and they need to be pulled.

but don't worry, if yours need to be pulled, it's really not a terribly bad experience. yes, you're sore for the first 2-3 days, but you get painkillers like vicodin and hyrdocodone to help with the pain. you're usually back to normal in a week, and the only thing you have to do afterwards is use a special mouthwash and keep the sockets clean where the teeth were.

your dentist can usually tell pretty early on if you're going to need to get them removed. next time you have a check-up you can ask and find out.

    good luck!

  3. You know, mine probably should have been pulled, but I never had them pulled, and I survived.

  4. no, wisdom teeth do not always have to be pulled.  although it is extremely common (all mine have been pulled)  its pretty painless, actually.  Dont be scared  :)

  5. Usually they just cut them out and they only give a local with a big needle in your gums so you're awake for the whole thing. If you leave them in they will push your front teeth forward giving you the ability to eat an apple through a chain link fence, if you know what I mean Bucky.

  6. they want to pull mine.  they only need to if they hurt.  if you wait until that happens, they may become impacted and take more effort to remove, but that might never happen and they could stay put forever.  it is a judgement call and I am willing to take a chance on it being a more difficult extraction.  good luck.

  7. Not always. It only happens to some people. My science teacher still has her wisdom teeth because her dentist pulled out some other teeth when she got her braces. She says that wisdom teeth are only pulled out because it gives pain and pressure to the other teeth.
