  1. You do not need an internal card to play PS3 games. My recommendation would be to delete your internal memory cards that you created, restart your PS3, and see if that changes anything.

  2. Create an internal memory card

       1. Go to the “Game” menu and choose Memory Card Utility

       2. Choose New internal memory card

       3. Choose which card type of want—Playstation (PS) or Playstation 2 (PS2)

       4. Enter a new name for the card if you wish (you can always change it later)

       5. You will be informed that the card must be assigned to a slot to be used.

    6. The new card will now be showing in the menu

Assign a card to a slot

    1. Find the card you want to assign and go to its options (Triangle controller button)

    2. Choose the Assign Slots option.

    3. Assign it to Slot 1 or Slot 2. If it’s already assigned you may choose to Remove it here.

    4. The memory card will now be shown in the menu with a number next to it (a circled “1″ or “2″)[Screenshot]. This allows you to browse the cards you have and see which are currently assigned

    Browse card contents

    1. Select the memory card you want to browse

    2. If the card is empty you will get a “There is no saved data” message.

    3. Otherwise you should see the content items, like game save files. Each file should have a title and show its filesize and modification date. PS2 game saves typically have small 3D models that correspond to the game, like a prince from “We Love Katamari”

    4. Go to the options (Triangle controller button) of an item to Copy or Delete it. You can copy to a new memory card, an existing memory card, or a USB drive

  3. well you don't need to make a internal memory card for a ps3 game. you probably don't have enough space on your harddrive. go to settings and then system settings and check out how much room you got left in your HDD. if you ran out of room, you will need to upgrade your HDD or delete some files. replacing your HDD with a bigger one is easy but it will cost you around $60 for another one. deleting some files means deleting some of your music, videos, pictures, game files, etc. but i wouldn't want to do that

  4. Lp is correct. To save data for a ps3 game, an internal memory card is not necessary. Internal memory cards are for ps1 or ps2 games only. PS3 games are saved on the hard drive. Since you say your ps3 is new, then you shouldn't be having any problems.

Now about the game, are you able to actually play it? If so, continue to play it until you get to a save spot and it asks you to save. If it does save, then you should be set. If it doesn't, then your hard drive may be corrupted.
