  1. don't do it yourself!!!!!!!! Go get it done by a profesional!!! My sister tried that and I told her not to and she did it anyway and she cleaned it and everything but she still got it infected and it looks so grows!!! And it can scar and nobody wants that she said she wished she listened to me so its your choice....

  2. Not to sound really pesimistic, but if you haven't researched sterilization and aftercare yet, you shouldn't be doing it, especially by yourself.

Navel piercing are classified as surface piercings, and this gives them a higher rejection rate. If you do this wrong, you may end up with rejection, migration and possibly, a decent scar.

I strongly advise you visit a piercing clinic and get it done professionally. The risks of doing it yourself are not worth it. You'd do better seeing a proffessional, so that if any problems should arise, they can help you.

  3. Well good luck with that.

You have no need to be worried with infection as you'll end up getting one either way since you obviously don't know what your doing.

  4. Ouch..Honey your much braver than me..

I'm going to tell you that this is not a good idea.

But I will answer your question anyway!

So they say the three most effective ways of sterilizing needles are:

    - Burn it.. it has to hot-hot

    - Clean with Alcohol

    - Freeze it

I suggest you do all three.

And as far as aftercare.. use warm water and soap for the first week to clean it. After that first week, clean with alcohol about once a week for a month or so.

  5. Before you do something you might regret you should at the very least go out and get a piercing needle... they come sterilized. You can order them on the internet. Make sure that you get the right gage needle... I think for bellybuttons it's a 14 gage needle. At least that way the hole will be the right size and there's less chance for it to get infected..

Use h2ocean or 1/4 teaspoon sea salt per 8oz of warm water... the sea salt should be dissolved. Soak it in that 5 - 10 minutes every day. That is the best way too clean it...

Don't touch it with dirty hands... and don't touch it a lot or it'll get irritated and take longer to heal.

    EDIT:

Do not use a safety pin. It's a low grade of steel and they are not meant to be used for piercing. There is a high chance that it will get infected...

heres the way i did it

1 get three safey pins (large ones)

2 boil them in water and some alcohol

3 (optional) numb your stomach with eyes takes about an hour

4 take a safety pin and stick it into your desired spot

5 use the two other safety pins and stick them trough to strech the pericing (leave in for at least 24 hours)

6 replace safety pins with a belly button ring

7 and most important keep clean daily with alcohol may sting a bit but better then getting an infections

this may sound like alot of info but its fairly simple
