HELP! All Interior Designers!!

Question

Hey! I love designing and I need some help redesigning my bedroom. Here is an idea of what I want:

* I want it to have that beachy and breezy feel without being you know kid tropical or looking cheap.

Can you give me some tips? I already have a layout of what I want, I just need some tips or some ideas for a bedspread or items in the room. Any tips?

I would go with light blues, greens, whites, and avoid using bright tropical colors that look childish.  Also, use shells to decorate and sheer fabrics to tie in.

Use a lot of light and soft colors.  Find a color palette that makes you feel summery like you are at the beach.  I would suggest soft blues and whites, possibly even a light coral color.  I don't recommend using a comforter or curtains that scream "cheesy beach."  The fastest way to look like a florida retirement resort would be to use a big old tropical pattern all over the place.  I would just paint the walls a soft blue, use some nice white accents, maybe some natural elements like a starfish or cattails to decorate and maybe a soft sheer curtain.  Sounds like you are on your way to a really relaxing retreat!

Think beachy colors: blues, greens, sand, stony gray, whites...all more on the dusty side to keep the look sophisticated.

Perhaps white painted or light-stained/ natural tone wood.  White gauzy sheers at the window (add matchstick blinds for privacy.)  Pale sand tone on the walls...add an accent wall in pale blue/ green if you like, perhaps on the window wall...accessories should stay in the same tones, varying lighter and darker for visual interest (think beach glass and driftwood.) Silver and gray accents will add a refined look.
