I am getting a french working visa, and they will issue a three month and single entry to me. Then I will go to France, have the health check, etc, then I will get a resident card in France.

I heard that the process to get a resident card will need about 2-3 months, but I plan to go to Egypt for vacation in begining of Oct. Will I have the problem to enter into France after my Egypt vacation?

How can I do? Can I leave france to Eygpt in Oct.? or I have to stay in France until I get the local resident card?

Thanks for your help.

  1. You should be OK for your trip to Egypt.

I've got my entry visa and I'm waiting for my medical appointment.

On the Visa it says it's valid for "France (+1 Transit Schengen)".    It also says that it is a Multiple Entry Visa.  I take that as having priority and I can come and go as I want in France while this process plays out.  I'm not 100% sure what the former means exactly.  But it doesn't make sense to me that France would want people to be 'imprisoned' in the country while the bureaucracy works its slow magic.

Of course, check with the prefecture or with the agency helping you with this process.

  2. I think the only SAFE way for you to get a correct answer to your question is to contact the French Consulate and ask them.  Contact the SAME office that will be giving you the work visa.  They can answer your question.
