  1. there's different kinds of convection currents but here's a sight, i can't explain it as well...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convection

  2. it is when the hot fluid raise and when it reach the top it cools and starts to sink and replace the cold fluid

here is my text defin: continuous circulation of a fluid (liquid or gas) in which thermal energy is transferred from hooter less dense fluid to colder more dense fluid

  3. Well you do not say in what context so I will explain it in simplest terms.

Hot material is less dense than cold material. So hot material rises as cold material sinks.

Lets look at a boiling pot of water. The water near the bottom of the pot gets hotter faster, it rises and the cold water sinks towards the bottom. Then that cold water that sank warms up and rises and the hot water that rose cools off and sinks.

    Repeat.

This current also happens in the Earth's mantle and drives plate tectonics.

  4. It's caused by differences in density.

There are convection belts underneath the crust as well as Planetary convection belts

    hope that helped
