I need good written and visual examples of the following rhetorical devices.

My english teacher is assigning us to make index cards labeled with rhetorical devices. We need to have some kind of picture with a written example to help us memorize them. I have a big test coming up so, I would really appreciate if you could help me on this. Thanks. =D

Here are the ones I need help with:

Imagery

Syntax

Pun

Irony

Hyperbole

Metonymy

Synedoche

Litotes

Paradox

Consonance

  1. google it! you can find images there too

for example... Hyperbole-an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”

    you could use this picture

this is just an example so hope it helps!

  2. Use your textbook and several dictionaries and be creative. Good Luck!

  3. Look it up in a dictionary, read what it means, but it into a scentence (not the one in the dictionary) and put a picture to your sentence. Why make people on the internet do your homework for you!?!

My english teacher last year made us do one of these every week. Its not that hard just time consuming. He even made us color the pictures. =)
