Me and my family are going to go to Disneyland for vacation. Since my mom (born in Cuba, but Canadian citizen) doesn't have a passport, we're going to drive to Seattle first, then take a plane. The part I am concerned about is getting over the border since she doesn't have a drivers ID or a passport. She has her citizen card, health card, etc, but i'm still worried they won't let us through. We are a family of four, and we all have our passports except for her. She can't find her birth certificate either. HELP!?!?!

  1. they may not ask for everyones papers in the car... they will ask if all canadian citizens and what your doing and how long staying and all of that and the driver will have show passport etc but often they wont go thru everyone if obviously a  family.

That said she should bring what id she has to present something if they do ask everyone especially her citizen ship papers..

If your in BC she can also get government issued photo id at any ICBC driver centre or drivers services office.   I think what she has as id (healthcard, citzenship card) qualifies for that. If you could get that too for her it would help.

  2. A new law is to get into the US you absolutly NEED a birth certificate. They wouldnt even let me into canada without it and i had a drivers license and everything
