Our lecturer told us to plot the log of molecular weight on the Y axis and relative mobility (not log) on the x axis but my graph is slanting the wrong way. Why? please help. this report is due in soon.

  1. To my reading, you aren't being asked to use a logarithmic scale on the Y axis. Instead you are being asked to calculate the logarithm of the molecular weights and graph those logs on a linear Y axis. This should yield the same graph shape as if you were graphing the raw values on log/linear paper.

  2. Are you sure you took the log of the right set of numbers?
