  1. You have done the right thing by back tracking your size - you will need to leave the 10mm plug in for around 2-4 months, you now need to treat what appears to be a tear how you would normally treat a fresh piercing e.g.

Sea Salt Soaks: Sea salt soaks are the #1 most important and best thing that you can do to heal a fresh stretch. To perform a sea salt soak, first dissolve 1 teaspoon of sea salt (available at most grocery stores) in 1 cup (8 oz.) of warm (slightly cooler than shower temperature) water - preferably deionized or distilled water, but tap water will do. Then submerge your ear in the solution for 10-15 minutes. This should be done 2-3 times per day & soothes your piercing while drawing out impurities from your piercing, thus allowing it to heal faster. Note: Do not overdo it on the salt - too much salt is extremely bad for your piercing.

Once you think that your ears are completely healed, wait another two weeks and begin doing vitamin e oil massages for at least another month prior to stretching.

After it is healed the two most important things that you can do for healed lobes are oil massages and relaxing your lobes. For massaging your lobes, the two most popular types of oil to use are jojoba oil and Vitamin E oil. Jojoba oil is good because it is an extremely close match to the oil that your body naturally secretes, and it therefore much less likely to irritate your skin. Vitamin E oil also has an extremely beneficial effect, as it breaks down scar tissue. In stretching, scar tissue is the enemy, making future stretches much more difficult and making your lobes less supple. By doing Vitamin E oil massages, you help enable the breakdown of any scar tissue that has formed and keep your ears as healthy as possible. Another benefit to oil massages is that it helps to promote blood flow throughout your lobes, thickening them up (often substantially) over time.

Next time you want to stretch your ears make sure you do it 1mm at a time and don't skip gauges.

  2. Hi

I think you need help alright from a psychiatrist, what on earth are you trying to do to yourself, is this a new form of self hurt?

    Ray. West York's. U.K.

and look you're not alone there's another four, must be something in the water, what's next!!! I know, how about a bone through the nose.

  3. Plugs are bad for your ears my friend. For one; they ruin your ears BIGTIME! Best of luck to you.

  4. yes, you'll be ok doing that.

sounds to me like you ripped your ear a bit, which is part of the reason why you should never make as big of a jump as what you tried.

give about a month to three months to let your ear heal properly before you try again.

any time you stretch, or attempt to stretch, your ears, remember, it needs to be treated just like its a new piercing again. cleaning and doing sea salt soaks is a really good idea.

and to the person who said that its self harm, go play in the street, or better still, educate yourself about body modification before you try to pass judgment on other people

  5. you skipped 3mm. If its not a blowout it is probably just a tear. put the 10mm and give it a longer time to heal and then stretch 1mm at a time.
