  1. If you are not going to do this sport for the rest of your life or take it seriously, stay away from the expencive ones. Try target or something. Or a local sports store near you.

  2. look for a pair of gently used SP Teris on ebay. i got them there up until a year or so ago when i started needing customs but they can come new(only used like twice or not at all) or they can come used( a little beat up or really beat up.) look around on ebay.com and ask questions if it doesnt specify condition. they can actually be really nice skates for really cheap!

  3. It depends on what kind of skating you plan on doing.  If you plan to recreationally skate only a few times a year, you won't need a skate that will be the same as you would if you were going to be jumping and spinning.

If you are going to skate recreationally (laps around the rink). but want a better skate than you'd find at a sporting goods store, try a low level Riedell or Jackson skate.  The boots and blades are of better quality than Lake Placids or CCM recreational figure skates.  They will have a little more ankle support and will be made of better materials so they will last longer.  Of course with that, they'll also be a little more expensive.

If you are taking lessons, jumping and spinning, I'd probably still go with Riedells, but a higher level boot.  You can check their website for a useage/recommendation chart (riedellskates.com).  Match your lesson level range to the boot/blade model name.  If you are jumping and spinning though, that's a little harder on the boots and require more sharpenings on the blades, so they probably won't last you years.  The higher your jump level goes, the more ankle support is needed from the boot.

I would go to a skate shop and tell them what you're looking for.  They will be able to set you up with a skate that should accomplish what you're looking for as well as help you find the right size/width.

    Good luck!

  4. Most figure skates only last a year or two at best, even if they are excellent quality skates. I would suggest a pair of Riedell skates, they are comfortable, good quality skates. The Riedell Blue Ribbon is a good skate for a beginner that is not too costly, and is good quality. I would suggest going to your local pro shop to be sized for skates, buying online can cause many problems.

  5. idunno where you can get them..maybe at an iceskating rink?

i use to figure skate when i was little.

..& when you get the new skates they are not going to be comfortable at all. might be painful.

you have to break them in.

    just letting you know.

  6. most basic skates will only last you for one season, if you want skates to last you for a few years you have to get custom boots and blades which'll cost a minimum of about $600 literally. plus, custom boots have a better bend, quality, edge, and usually come padded.

  7. i recommend jackson mystique when you start out, play it again sports around 100-150$

  8. go at a shop with winter things and buy a pear of figure skates and be shore you feel good in them
