Find the vertical asymptotes of the function below.

(x^2 + 9) / (9 x - 5 x^2). There are two values. I have tried all different techniques and cant figure it out. Its probably a simple problem, just overlooking something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Vertical asymptotes occur when the denominator = 0

    9x - 5x^2 = 0

    x(9 - 5x) = 0

    Therefore, x = 0

    or 9 - 5x = 0 implies x = 9/5 = 1.8.
