For weeks now I've been racking my brain out trying to figure out what to get my mom for her birthday. I ask her what she wants and she says "Ohh I don't know, get me whatever." And everyone knows that DOESN'T help one bit. Sooo does anyone have any (inexspenvie) ideas on what I should get my wonderful mom for her 40th birthday?

  1. YOU HAVE SPEND ONE FULL DAY WITH YOUR MOM I THINK THAT IS THE BEST GIFT OF YOUR MOM BECAUSE TODAY'S LIFE IS SO BUSIER SO THAT IS THE BEST IDEA

  2. just think of what she likes best.

  3. Tell her I said Happy Birthday.  You could get her a candle with nice smelling fragment. Or make up that dose not cost to much money. Or you could get her perfume? lim-on ver-bina smells good too.

  4. 2 days ago I bought my Dad a personalize short story on eBay. It only cost me $1.25.

The story should be finished in the next couple of weeks.

I even got to give the author an outline to build the story around.

Here is a link to my outline

  5. You could give her a day of relaxation, I don't know how old you are and if you have brother and sisters at home. Clean house , bake her a cake cook dinner for her. Does she like to read? Buy her a book by her favorite author, Run her a bath with all the goodies, bath oils candles , soft music, and if you can get everyone out of the house for a few hours. Or and if you can afford it give her a coupon for a pedicure, I love pedicures.Just make her 40th! special,

  6. Go out with her. :)

Inexpensive? Well take her to a beach or any place she has never been to or have always loved to go to but hasn't yet.

  7. well I dont think your mom will mind what you got her, she really only cares that you thought about her. You shoudl either get perfume, flowers, maybe a # 1 mom thing, She'll love whatever you bring her.

  8. If she wears jewelry an italian slide bracelet is nice.  I did this for my mother and mother in law and they loved it.  I put slides that symbolized each of there children and grandchildren(like a fish because my husband likes to fish, a bee for one of the grandchildren because my mother in law said she was always as sweet as honey etc..) and to top it all off I would write a little something a poem or something symbolic for each slide and its relation to the person it represented.   You can start small like the bracelet and maybe mom or her initials and a slide representing her. My mother in law is  master gardener so I got a flower. Then tell her you will get her one or two slides for each special occasion until it is full.  It a ongoing gift that will be treasured for a life time.  You can usually find these in the mall sometimes in one of those carts in the middle of the mall that will specialize in just that or at a  jewelry store, maybe on line not sure.  Have fun with it and remember the best gift is a gift from the heart.

  9. A spa treatment or massage

      or

    Make her a scrapbook

  10. Maybe jewlery? Or candles in a bag with a card

    purse

    slippers

gift card to her favorite store

  11. My suggestion is to make a "Memory Box."

You buy a small jewelry box from Dollar Store, big enough to put 3 x 5 cards in it.

Then ask all her family, children, spouse to write at least 5 or 6 "memories" about her life, what she's done for others, and her best qualities.  Put them on the 3 x 5 cards.

Don't sign the cards, with "memories" on them.  Put all the cards from members of family into memory box, wrap it, and present it to her with a birthday card, and gift certificate to her favorite restrurant.

She will actually cry when she reads the cards, I know my mother did it.  I also read some of the cards at my mother's funeral, she died last month.

Have a wonderful time with your mother, enjoy her while you can.

  12. I once took her out for japan restaurant for her birthday and  my family and friend were already there to surprised her .  she was very happy, it almost made her cry in happeness ?  after dinner she told me is was a joyful night there ?  i,m glad , too !

  13. teddy bear

    poems

    professional massage

  14. Donate $100 in her name to a charity.

  15. a simple bit of makeup?

  16. Hi.

I'm a mom and about the same age as yours.

What does your mom like? Does she have any hobbies? Get her something she can use daily.

Personally, I would love anything my kids give me.

But if I may suggest, you could get her some perfume if it's within your budget(Victoria's Secret has some really nice affordable body sprays, creams and lotions); a mug (get one of those Fine Bone China ones); or take her out for a meal (doesn't have to be fancy, as long as mom doesn't have to cook, she'd love it!).

  17. earrings or a necklace

  18. You should get her some nice perfume or a hand bag that would suit her

  19. A Jigalo?

  20. Go to www.gifts.com. When you get there, you can use the shop by personality option which lets you pick whether you are shopping for a man, woman, girl, or boy & then it will take you thru a series of questions to get an idea of what kind of person he/she is. When you get thru that a lot of gift ideas will pop up. Even if you don't find exactly what you are seeking, it'll help get your ideas flowing.

  21. Make a scrapbook of photos when you and your siblings were young, it will come from the heart and won't cost anything

  22. Make her something.  I'm not sure if you can sew or weave or draw or anything, but mom's love sentimental things from the heart.  I've given my mom so many things that I have made that she loves more than the things I buy her. It really shows that you care when you take the time to make her something rather than being lazy and going shopping.  Some ideas for her would be:

    1.  A picture frame with a picture of you and your mom

    2.  A woven scarf(if you can)

    3.  Bake her her favorite dessert

    4.  Give her a homeade coupon book (aka 'Heres a coupon that entitles you to a dinner made by me' or 'Heres a coupon that entitles you to a manicure by me' etc.)

    5.  If she likes to read, make her a homeade bookmark.

    6.  Write her a poem

    7.  If you want, you can buy her a gift like jewlery or make her jewlery or perfume or something, and then create a treasure hunt around your house leading her to your present.

    8.  Make her a big card filled with how much you appriciate her and make it colorul and pretty.  Your mom would love that.

Anything on that list would make your mom smile all day long.  All those things would be from the heart, so they would be perfect.

    I hope this helps!
