HELP HD television?

Im looking to buy a hdtv i have 900 dollars to spend and have seen alot of tv for sale. I just wanted to know what to look for in a tv cause they cost alot of money. I have a ps3 and i want to play it on an hdtv cause im told it looks so much better then on a old tv.
