Is it better to have a LCD TV that comes from a top maker (Panasonic, LG, Sony, Samsung etc) or a maker that is not well known (Acoustic Solutions, Wharfedale, Grundig, etc)?

Will there be any differences between the TV’s if brought from a well known or not well known brand?

Thanks in advance.

  1. I sell televisions for my job, Sony and Samsung have some of the best industries although panasonic has some nice plasma tv's.  Lg is a midrange brand as well as sharp.  And almost all others are brands that you shouldn't consider unless your in a serious money pinch.( in which case i would recommend a vizio who uses 3 yr old sony/samsung technology at low prices).  Than again if you don't have money to spend , you shouldn't be buying a tv now should you? =) hope i helped

  2. Buddy Buy a Branded LCD TV as the name itself gurantees Quality.

  3. there is a difference in the quality of picture. go to a walmart or electronics section of any store and look at the two side by side. you will see a difference.

  4. Samsung makes the LCD technology that is used by the rest of the TV making industry. The technology you will find in a Sony or a LG is the same as the one in Samsung. Sony and the rest buy the technology from Samsung and use it in their own products.

Perhaps it would make sense to buy a Samsung, then.

As for going for a top maker, the best reason to go to them is the quality of the after sales service. Perhaps a lesser known brand won't provide the same service?

BTW I wouldn't say Grundig is not well known. It's been around for years.

  5. you do realize that they all come from a handful of factories.

same employees, same assembly lines, same quality control, different covers. in electronics if it is made in Japan the quality is usually better then China, Korea or Taiwan.

where you buy is as important as what you buy. go to a retailer that backs the warranty with exchange at the store so you don't have to deal with repairs or replacement issues with the manufacturer.

  8. Would you rather have a Coca Cola, or Shasta?
