  1. I'm guessing you wont have time to rent this but David Attenborough's Blue Planet tv series has a great episode about overfishing called Deep Trouble, so if you know anyone who has it you should try to borrow it as it's easy to watch and very educational.

Also, wikipedia is a great research tool which isnt too complicated.  Below is the link for overfishing

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overfishing

And the best thing you can do is try to find pictures from google images which will take up a bit more room and look creative

    Hope that helps

  2. you could do a bunch of pictures to waste space, i do that a lot. and also you could put in random facts about overfishing and how it helps global warming and stuff like that. that won't do 9 entire pages, but it could help.

  3. I don't know where you live, but in California, the Department of Fish and Game should have some information on issues of over fishing, from lake and streams to ocean fishing. If you live in another state, there should be some regulatory agency for fishing and hunting. Try the Federal Bureau of Land Management and Dept. of Forestry.

  4. Well you can try connect overfishing to a hugely popular global issue that will aim to really interest your audience.  For example, the north atlantic cod fishery that collapsed has caused huge economic problems in Newfoundland...it's now the poorest province in Canada.  But now, the newfs are using the cod fishery collapse as an excuse to kill hundreds of thousands of harp seals every year.  (But the seal hunt has been going on for centuries) The harp seal hunt is a huge international debate that could help you show how overfishing has many broad consequences.

  5. One resource you might use is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. It was set up specifically to help the bay, but much of the information has applies widely. It also has pages for both teachers and students so you can get many facts.

    This url  http://www.cbf.org/site/PageServer?pagen...

goes directly to it's page on over -fishing.  Also examine its pull down pages under EXPLORE.

Good luck on your Powerpoint (you said slides) and don't forget let your pictures do the talking and keep the message short and on topic. (Yes I teach science)

  6. Why not putting in many pictures with captions on overfishing. Try doing a little more research, and you can find some more ideas. Try using ask.com, google.com, or even yahoo!. Hope you can finish it. Good luck!

  7. I am going to link you to the site i hope this 'll better help you in your report http://www.un.org/events/tenstories_2006...
