Question:

HELP! Have no room for these fish, what do I do??

I have 6 Black Convict Cichlids that are pretty small, but 2 are very aggressive towards any other fish. We currently have 5 fish tanks up and running, a 50 gallon community (2 convicts), 5 gallon (1 female betta), 5 gallon (2 convicts, the biggest ones), 10 gallon (5 male guppies, 1 female betta, 2 convicts), and a 29 gallon community. These fish are soon (or already have) outgrown their tanks. None of our local fishstores will take them, and there is absolutely no way we can get rid of any of our other fish, or get another tank. So what can I do with them?? PLEASE HELP! These fish are overrunning my fish tanks! AHH, I know I shouldn't have gotten them in the first place, but now I'm stuck with them. Please give some suggestions that are hopefully fool-proof! Thanks

  1. Put in a "free to good home" ad in your local paper - those ads are usually free for 3 days and hopefully someone will take some of your fish off your hands.

    Good luck.

  2. Either make a list with five sections/categories, one for each tank, and reorganize which fish go in which tank to see if you have more room.

    OR

If your block is having a garage sale or something you could set up a stand that says FREE FISH TO GOOD HOME

    OR

Give it to a niece or someone as a present like you got it at a store or something lol

  3. Put them on freecycle --  type in freecycle.com on the internet then find the one nearest you - we have one right here in our town -- many fish, dogs, cats and even an iguana have found loving homes through this organization.
