  1. Blot up as much polish as possible with a tissue or anything handy.

Then test the effect of nonoily nail polish remover on an inconspicuous

part of the carpet.  If there are no ill effects to the carpet pile, apply the

nail polisher remover with an eye dropper or a nonsilver spoon, blotting

immediately after each application.  Always use nonoily nail polisher

remover.  If regular nail polisher remover does not work, buy straight

acetone at a beauty supply house, pretest again, and apply as directed

above.  Once you have removed as much as possible (have patience)

followed with Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover applied ac-

cording to the directions.  If color staining remains, apply hydrogen

peroxide to bleach or lighten the stain.

  2. Remove as much of the nail polish as possible using a spoon or dull knife.

Apply a non-oily nail polish remover to a clean white cloth and gently rub (in only one direction at a time) or blot the spot. Continue until spot is removed. Do not allow nail polish remover to get to the latex backing. Go to the next step to remove nail polish remover.

Apply a small quantity of detergent solution to the spot. (To make the detergent solution mix 1/4 teaspoon of a hand dish washing detergent which does not contain lanolin or bleach with 1 quart of water; examples of safe detergents are Dawn® and Joy®.) Use a blotting motion to work the detergent into the affected area. If spot is being removed continue applying detergent and blotting with a white paper towel until spot is removed.

Rinse with tap water using a spray bottle, blot to remove excess moisture.

Spray lightly with water, do not blot this time; apply pad of paper towels and brick and allow to dry.

  3. Nail polish remover should do the trick.  Test this method first on a small patch of carpet that does not show, like under the couch.  If you see the remover doesn't ruin the color or fiber then go for it.  You might need to finish it off with a stain remover or wash the area with some foam carpet cleaner.

  4. i know vodka gets lipstick out of the carpet, maybe u could try vodka

  5. i used nail polish remover and a q-tip

change it often then when it looked pretty good I blotted it with water.

  6. I would use nail polish remover. Work really carefully little by little! DONT pour a whole lot on at once as this will cause it to spread. Get a cutip (cotton bud on a stick) and work your way from the outside in, regulaly changing the cutip (THIS IS IMPORTANT because if you dont you will just be spreading it more) if you see that the nail polish is gone, add water to the stain to remove any excess nail polis and nail polish remover. It may take a while but you will have to wokr on it!!!

    God luck

  7. Okay, go find the closet where all of your cleaning supplies are. Look for carpet stain removers. Get a cold, wet rag and a few paper towels. Follow the directions on the bottles to a T. If you don't have any stain removers, I suggest nail polish remover. If you must use it, PLEASE do so with caution because it might remove dyes from the carpet. My friend also told me about hair spray and rubbing alcohol. I'm not sure if it works, but if you're desperate I suppose it's worth a try. One more idea I have is hydrogen peroxide and water. Remember to work on the stain for at least 15 minutes if it doesn't come out. Don't rub too hard, either, because that could ruin the carpet. This may be a challenge; I've spilled hot pink nail polish on a cream colored carpet, too. Haha. (I think every teenaged girl has)

Please be careful, and good luck!

  8. have you tried goo gone you can find it in most grocery stores.

  9. Use nail polish remover but test an area like in a closet first to make sure it doesn't contain any nylon. Nail polish remover melts nylon. If ok then get a bunch of paper towels or cotton balls and keep cleaning it until it's gone.

  10. nail polish remover.

and then like stain remover for carpet

  11. get scissors and cut it out where it spilt but only get it where it spilt and it will barely be noticable
