  1. if you are babysitting him near breakfast, lunch, or dinner then act like its a restaurant. you could also play hide and go seek. when you are babysitting little kids, you need to be able to have more energy then the kid so you can keep up with them.

  2. ( in his imaginary world) Mine likes to cook me dinner, buy things from the shop, comb my hair, massage my head (in his own way) strangely enough if I'm giving myself a pedicure I give him a bud and some oil and he does his it keeps him occupied. Get on his bus on the settee and let him be the driver get some teddies to join in.

    Bear in mind he has lots of toys that he has no interest in at present. Colouring. Draw dots on a piece of paper and let him join them together. Is their not a park or something near by? I used to live in an apartment so I know how it is, take him outside (if you can)and show him things insects, leaves, clouds etc hope it helps. Or just bounce on the bed!!!

  3. Maybe you could make some flash cards and teach him his colors or maybe a memory game. Hide and seek in the house?

  4. Do they have a dvd or vcr?  If so, rent some kid video.  This will help for about a half hour, if you're lucky maybe a whole hour.  Tell a story using the child's name in the story.  Perhaps making him or her the hero.  Get a box & play guess what's in the box.  Make it exciting by putting things that the child will like in the box.  ex: toys or a snack.  Play emergency room.  You are the injuried victim the child is the surgeon who has to "save"  you.  Kids this age also like to build things.  get some over-sized blocks for building or use your imagination for building material.  Main idea is to be safe while having fun.

  5. Get out some crayons and paper. Draw a big circle, squiggly design on it and let him color it in. Take out some pots and pans and let him bang on those. That will keep him busy for awhile. If you are allowed to bake some cookies. Kids always find that fun and they feel like they helped accomplish something. Read books, make up stories, make puppets and then do a puppet show. Ask him what he thinks sounds fun.

  6. Next time bring a book to read to him or some games....play office or indians, have fun!

  7. If you can't take him out for a walk around the neighborhood, play a game of indoor hide and seek. Play Red Light, Green Light in the living room. Grab some of of his favorite books and read him some stories. Play a game of concentration/memory with a deck of cards. Create a little scavenger hunt with pictures and his favorite toys.

  8. Here are a few great websites that involve kids crafts.

  9. go to like walmart, cvs, or even the dollar store. buy some fun but pretty cheap toys and make a babysitting bag. balloons, paydoh, those wind spinny things, anything! little kids LOVE getting to play with new toys that they dont have! it'll be a big treat for them! bring craft stuff...make sock puppets and make a show for thier parents wen they come home! [clean socks though! lol], make a book; he can pick the plot and make the pictures and you can right. little kids get very overwhelmed with too many choices so haelp them narrow down plots,etc. then at bedtime read the book! play keep the balloon up, make up silly games! i live in a huge apartemnt\ condo complex and babysit kids thier too, so i know what its like! let them give u a tour and let them show u all thier toys! make microwave smores and have and indoor "camp-in" before bedtime; make a tent with balnkets, etc. make story with your fingures and a flashlight in the tent {not scary ones!}

    one of my favorite things i give kids that thy love when i babysit is i  make these crayon disk things..what you do is get some of those tin circle pans from an easy bake oven [thy sell then seperate!] and put fun-colored broken crayons [with no wrappers!!] in there coverng most of the empty spots. make sure the crayons are broken in like 1\3 to 1\2 pieces of a normal crayols crayon! then put up tp 3 in a TOASTER OVEN on bake, on about 400 for about starting at 4-5 minutes [ovens vary but just estimate and just watch them] when thier fully melted, let them dry and take them out and turn them over [the other side\ bottom is alot kooler than the top side] thier reeli fun to look at and to color with!! hope this helps=] a good website also is

  10. well one thing you could do is make a game for him to play and you play it with him.Also you can watch his favorite shows with him like blues clues , barney , tally tubies,the backyardians ,mickey mouse club house.you can play hide and go seek,duck duck goose,airplane lift him up and fly him around the room. read him a story and his favorite story and maybe you can bring him candy and tell him its a game if hes good he'll get candy. hope this helps.

  11. okay i have been in the position, i had to babysit two three year old twins. One boy and one girl and they seemed to like doing arts and crafts, they enjoyed drawing and even playing with some of their toys, they will be happy to have someone to play with so you can do anything. If they get tired or something then watch some TV on the couch. You can also read books to them, thats always something fun for them. Maybe have a puzzle to.

  12. Well you can bring over some yummy snacks, like fruit, but have them in little shapes so they are more fun to eat. Also you can watch some cartoons, movies or play some video games that help you learn things but are still fun. You can play with him with his toys and pretend your really into it and pretend to be that character. Crafts are always fun just put newspaper down and make sure he stays away from furniture and walls. One more thing is reward him with small toys or candy (if it is alright with the parents) when he is good. Hope this helps!!
