First off, I live in Texas. I recently got notificatioin that Chase bank has filed a law suit agaist me for a credit card I have not paid on. I don't own ANYTHING. Can they have my wages garnished, or freeze my bank account? (i've heard that in Texas they can not do this, but they (Chase)seems to think they are going to) Does anyone know?

  1. Prove to them that you have a ZERO balance.

  2. If I were you I go to my bank and take out everything maybe leave a dollar in my bank accounts.I have 2 bank account with less than $10 bucks in each. You never know who's after your money thesedays. Now that I got my money from the bank I sleep well at night.LOL.no joke. Now I got mu rent money in my hand hahahah.Did you ever got a credit from chase? If yes did you ever used to buy anything? Chase used to mail me forms every  month noe they gave up.They seem good credit co.I allready have 2 CC so I turned chase down and they stoped sending me c**p in the mail. Now I know that chase co.is bad *** mfs I am glad I didn't get their card.

  3. They will wait until you own something or have a bank account or a job..then get their money..IT IS OWED TO THEM!!! Are you surrprised?!!?

  4. They can garnish your paychecks if they know where you work.

They can also garnish any money that shows up in your bank account if they know your bank account.

    Pay you d**n bills, jeeeeze!

Stop eating out, stop spending money on that 60 inch flat screen TV, stop pimping your car.   Pay your d**n bills!

  5. Chase is the only credit card company that I know of that goes after deliquent/no pay card holders with a vegence. Chase went after a friend of mine...they garnisheered her check. But, if you dont owe them I dont understand how they can go after you.

  6. How much do you owe?  If its alot, file for bankruptcy.  They can't get anything because in your question it sounds like you don't have anything.

  7. They can if they get their way.

  8. I don't know about Texas. I thought they could do that everywhere.  Call the card company and work it out with them before the court date. Too many people just ignore the calls and don't show up in court. If you don't show up the judge will award them what they say that you owe.

OK... so you do owe the money. Just work out a payment plan with them for a lesser amount. If you can not do that and you do not have a car, a house or a bank account, yes they can come after your check. They can not take the whole check but they will get an amount each month until it is paid. Better to make a deal with them before court. Even if you pay them $10.00 a month and do it every month, they can not do anything to you if they agree to this and you keep your end of the deal.
