Im going to redecorate my room...I'm 15 and I'll be 16 in a couple months so I want my room to be pretty and s**y looking I guess I don't want it to look to young you know? I was thinking of doing my room pink and black but then I figured that would look to young and than I thought about a really dark purple for the walls and probably white floor....and have like a zebra or something black/white as comforter...??? IDK tho..??? Any ideas or pictures of rooms would help.

Heres what I was thinking at first:

  1. Try one of the many blues-perhaps a dark blue for the wall with white trim, and a coordinating shade of white for the floor-it will look wonderful. Window treatments can be white blinds-and coordinate the curtains with the colour of the bed spread-one of the new aqua blue green colours would be fresh and interesting.

  2. decorate with colors according to feng shui

  5. While the pink and black room are very attractive it's not very peaceful.  It wouldn't make you feel restful or relaxed when you went into your room.

Take some more time to think about how you want to feel while in your room.  Do you want to feel energized, relaxed, comfortable.  Do you want to feel like you've come home and can relax now, or do you want to feel like you could challenge the world?

If you want your room to feel restful you could use colors such as moss green, pale blue, light lavender, etc.  If you want to feel intense while in your room you can use brighter, deeper colors such as the fuchsia pink, purple, brown, red, or any of the other colors that are deeper in hue.

Go on-line to decorating web sites and look until you find just what you want.  There are also web sites that tell you what emotion is evoked by which color.  That will help you decide which emotion you want to feel while hanging out in your room.
