  1. Portugal - Spain - Andorra - United Kingdom - France - Monaco - Luxembourg - Belgium - Netherlands - Germany - Switzerland - Liechtenstein - Italy - San Marino - Vatican City - Malta - Austria - Czech Republic-Slovakia-Slovenia - Croatia - Bosnia-Herzegovina - Hungary - Yugoslavia - Albania - Greece - FYR Macedonia - Romania - Bulgaria - Turkey - Georgia - Azerbaijan - Syria -

    Iraq - Kuwait - Cyprus - Lebanon - Jordania - Israel -

    -Saudi Arabia  Egypt - Sudan- Lybia - Tunisia - Algeria - Morocco - Palestine

  2. Italy, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia & Montenegro, Hungary, and England (actual England, not all of Great Britain)

  3. It's a difficult question to get completely accurate without an overlay of the modern countries. Most of the maps of the Roman empire only show the ancient regions. I was unable to find one using a search. I have to make some guesses.

    Italy, France , Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Belgium, Luxembourg , Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Romania, Crete, Malta, Andorra and Slovenia are all entirely inside the boundaries.

    United Kingdom , Ireland, and Germany are NOT.

    Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Iceland are NOT.

    I'm not sure about Serbia, Tunisia, Syria, or the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, or Bulgaria, I think the boundaries of the Roman empire would have cut through the modern day countries.

    ======================================...

    Incidentally, if the you speak one of the Romance languages (or language of the Romans) you were inside the Roman empire.

    Romance languages include Italian, Romanian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

    Because a lot of stories about love and s*x were written in the language of the Romans, they became known as Romance novels.

  4. Paco has a very good answer. because there isn't a proper record of the boundaries of the roman empire.

  5. Probably a lot of those who are reasonable at geography wouldn't know the answer to this either.

    However they may know how to do a web search, which is what I suggest you do.

    Try "Roman Empire  extent." - looks like whoever is asking the question may have been to the sites that come up!

  6. you mean countries, not counties

  7. The Roman Empire was very, very large at one point.  There are many countries that could be considered entirely within the borders of the Roman Empire.  Probably half of the countries of Europe, several in the Middle East, and some in north Africa.
