  1. If its a hostile work environment you may be eligible for unemployment compensation.  If you cant resolve the conflict and are forced out then you may be eligible but I'd check first.  Also, call a labor attorney.  : 0)  I went thru that when i was being discriminated against at work when I was pg.  Everytime I did something wrong my pregnancy got blamed and important accts got pulled from me because 'what if something happens to you who will work the acct?"  that's illegal.  bosses can be so shady.

  2. how can any of us judge your problem? what is your problem?

  3. contact a lawyer ,don't quit let them fire you so you can get unemployment, and it will make your suit look better if they let you go.

  4. This may not be what is sought but there is a book called Ending Rankism. The book presents the argument that abuse of rank can result in the attitude that other people are nobodies. The book suggests that there should be campaign to dissolve this prejudice of rankism. Perhaps The Poverty Law Center could take up a case to not only be of help but dissolve rankism as a prejudice should they win.

  5. You didn't say exactly how or why you think you're being discriminated against?  Is it because of your race, s*x, religion, or sexual orientation?  Those are really the only types of discrimination that the HR department can really protect against, legally.  I'm afraid some companies are very clique-ish and play favorites, that's just the way it goes.

What I would do, if I were you, is to start an incident journal chronicling each time you feel you are being harrassed, and get it documented by an HR representative in your company, someone who is not on your immediate management team.  You will need this if you do choose to seek legal action, because the court will need indisputable proof that you are being unfairly treated by your supervisory staff.  However, I can tell you right now that unless the discrimination is of a specific nature (either sexual harrassment, racism, religious slurs, etc.) it will be harder to prove.  I once had a supervisor whom I am sure discriminated against me because I lived with my boyfriend instead of being married to him, and I could never prove it because I didn't have specific enough evidence, but she always gave extra paid vacation time and substantial raises to my married co-worker who was my same age.  No matter what a great job I did (and EVERYONE else there said I was great at my job) it was never good enough for her, so finally I just gave my 2 weeks' notice and found a position in a company that really values me and makes me feel appreciated.  I think that's what you should do too.

  6. yes... don't quit. talk to the lawyer and see what they say first. I had this happen at my last job and could have really hurt them but they laid me off. It still affects me today 15 months later. If nothing else it will make you feel better for try to fix something that they are not addressing. It might help someone in the future too. Wish I had but it's to late.
