okay, this is what happened.....
i got a dlink dsc100 webcam and started installing it. it wouldnt work so i thought stuff it!!!
a couple of hours later i went to listen to some music and i get the following message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.
now no other program is using it and it was working perfectly fine before the stupid webcam and now i cant hear a thing coming from my computer.
i have the cd that came with my computer and tried to install the sound card driver again but its asking for a "ksinterf file" and i have no idea what that is.
i googled and downloaded some drivers but they didnt work or they would give the same ksinterf file message during installation.
i have removed the program that runs the webcam.
my computer specs are:
asus kv8-mx
ADI AD1888 SoundMAX 6-channel audio CODEC
and im using windows xp
i dont know much more than that.
is there anybody out there who knows how i can fix this problem?
