  1. In ohio the rules are simple. Points are deducted for coming to a complete stop, unless you are changing from drive to reverse. And hitting a cone at all is an immediate failure.

  2. Hi....check out this website, the second one has the DMV handbook for your state.

Here in Texas there is no time limit for parallel parking, the main thing is to do it correctly, check for traffic safety, and don't hit the cones or the curb.  Practice makes perfect and you should be able to parallel park in about 1 to 2 minutes, tops.  However, if you take more time, then so be it, just do it right!!!!

  3. When my daughter took her drivers test the parallel parking scared her - she got 3 tries to put it in the spot. It took her 2 times the instructor told me she was nervous the first time so she told her to breath and then she did it perfect.  The instructor also told me that they only do the parallel parking to see if they can handle the car. So basically putting the car where the driver wants it.  If my daughter would have known that in the first place she would have been calmer. This is in AZ so I don't know if there is any difference in the testing.

  4. Relax and drive that car in there. My wife said tell her that experienced drivers don't always get it right the first time. Good Luck.
