HELP I NEED HELP WITH SALTWATER FISHINg?

Question

I want to go trolling on my 19ft boat. I dont want to go too far. probably in 30-40 feet of water mabe even shallower and i want to fish for stripe bass and blue fish. i want to buy these trolling fake plastic eels that have a 4 oz. weight in front. i dont have a down rigger because they are toooooo expensive like $300-$400 expensive. so can i use this lure to troll with without using a downrigger. if i have to buy one of those jet divers or dipsey divers i will. and i dnt feel like making my own downriger either for those who would like to mention it. troll large deep diving crank baits ones colored to look like the species of bait there the fish will normally feed on. I suggest smaller baits in spring and longer baits in fall troll with the current and make the baits trolled act or appear at least that they are having a problem swimming (like a fish that can't keep up with the bait ball.) make it look crippled by jerking the rod forward every so often while both raising then lowering the tip closer then further from the water. if you are watching the birds and they are hitting the surface take your boat to them and throw a top water bait into the boilng water. also have a swim bait rigged to cast into a bait ball and as it falls through the bait and out the bottom is usually when they get hit.

if u want to troll ur going to have to get a diver like u said

also puting some live or cut bait on the bottom is just as effective if not more. Its also simpler cause u can use more rods without tangling up. By the way both of those are excelent choices iv used both, use which everone u prefer. U could also try trolling spoons and large jerkbaits.
