  1. I dont know what Sack Lunch is but........for great meals that are COLD is Ice Cream and Biscuits to dip in and a yummy Coke

  2. insulated bags, tupperware, wrapping  warm foods in foil and keeping it with other warm foods. Cold foods with cold foods, i usually use frozen juices as ice packs, the kiddos love a defrosted(slightly iceed) juice.

pasta salads, lunchmeats and cheese with crackers...

mac n cheese, chicken wings, or even a heated sub...

  3. well i have hot lunch all the time

  4. Good things to pack in a sack lunch are carrot sticks and celery sticks, small bunches of seedless grapes and cut up apples.  Little bags of crackers and sliced cheese.  Tightly wrap up some pickles or olives in plastic wrap or tinfoil.  These all make great additions to a lunch, are easy to eat without silverware and aren't temperature dependent.  Cookies and pieces of cake are also nice, but not nearly as healthy.  Soup or hot chocolate in a thermos can be a great treat on a cold day and thermoses will keep cold drinks cold as well.  If you wrap a cold pack or even just some ice in a tightly sealed bag in the bottom of a sack lunch it will help keep cold foods cold.  Hot foods are trickier, but wrapping them in layers of tinfoil and then wrapping them in a towel or thick cloth can help reduce heat loss.  Having a towel or cloth along can also be nice to spread on one's lap while eating or for wiping hands after a lunch, too.

  5. You can get an insulated lunchbox. They are good for the environment, keep food how you like it, and save you money. But if you insist on taking a paper bag, you can use a thermos. They are used for liquids, but I've been known to put food in there too. If you want to keep your sandwich, for instance, cold, put your thermos in the fridge the night before and it should be nice and cold to pack your food in in the morning.

Let's see, food options- here you go...

    1. Get the flavored tortilla wraps at the store (Mission Brand I think). Make a wrap sandwich out of those with ham, cheese, lettuce, avocado- basically whatever you want to put in it.

    2. Chilis are good for the thermos and so is soup

    3. You can also buy like food cup things such as ravioli and mac and cheese at the grocery store. I think they are chef boyardee.

    3. You can make your own macaroni and stick it in the thermos.

    4. You can also have little snacks, too. I like hummus and raw mixed veggies, fruit and yogurt, cheese and crackers, etc.

    5. As for hot foods, you should make the food that you want to put in the thermos and heat until it's really hot because you will lose heat.

    6. Hot thermos foods- Pasta, hot dogs, rice, chicken (sometimes)

    7. Also if you are gonna put foods in your thermos, i would wrap them in foil and out them in and then sort of scrunch the foil up and put it in the foil. It will keep your food nice and toasty.

Personally, I like my insulated lunchbox. All I need is a cold pack for my cold foods but I have a microwave at my school so I can't really have hot foods in there because it will melt. But that's the only drawback.

    Good Luck!

  6. Today this is what I did:

Put my frozen ice in the bottom of the lunch box

then i put the lunchables on top of that

then I put her fruit (in a container) on top of that & then I placed more 'frozen ice' around the container of rruit (we had cantaloupe today)

I need ideas too LOL, I am new to this myself!!

    Idea: make home made lunchables

Either : buy square crackers & cut your cheese & meat into squares - or get a biscuit cutter that is the same size as a ritz cracker & cut your cheese & meat out into rounds.

Look at how she packs those lil sandwich guys on the 'bento' site I don't know what the heck a bento is but that's awesome!!

  7. A good idea to keeping cold food cold and hot food hot. Is getting lunch bags from the company name "Thermo". Next thing to keeping cold food cold, is bringing an ice pack in your lunch bag. A good way to keeping hot food hot is buying a thermos or rapping your lunches in tin foil (may not work as well as thermoses)

    Hot lunch ideas

    -Soup: lentils, veggie, chicken soup

    -pasta:with alfredo or tomato sauce

    -mac&cheese

    -Ravioli

    -left over pizza

    -Sheppard's pie

    -lasagna

    -chicken and mash potatoes

    -grilled cheese

    -chicken fingers

    -mash with ground beef

    Cold lunch ideas

    -sandwiches (of course)

    -salad: Cesar, garden

    -cold pizza

    -wraps

    Voila!!!!!!

    ENJOY!

  8. Use a thermos to keep things hot and cold. Also an ice pack when you want things cold. My favorite thing to take is roasted turkey or chicken on a salad with blue cheese dressing on the side, crackers, and grapes for a dessert. I bring sweet tea in a sports bottle and add ice, that keeps it pretty cold for awhile. Another thing are wraps, like a sun dried tomato wrap with your ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mayonnaise or another spread. Carrots are always a good side with a dressing. Remember keep it fun, lunch can become such a droll! goodluck

  9. chicken quesadillas

slice up the chicken into strips

    grill them up a little

add some sauce while cooking- such as BBQ

put one tortilla on a frying pan with PAM

pour reduced-fat cheese on top of tortilla

    add chicken

    add more cheese

    place second tortilla on top

after heated for a little, press down on the sandwich with a plate to make skinnier

flip when one side is brown,

it is ready when the bread is browned and the cheese is melted

this is yummy cold or hot.
