HELP! I am so terrified?

I have pain on my left side, right around the bottom of my rib cage, which has been off and on for about a month. it only hurts when i shift positions or bend down, and the pain only lasts for a few seconds. i took an xray of my chest and 3 ekgs a month ago for unrelated reasons but everything was normal. i am so scared that it is a tumor or something that is causing this pain. i had a few people i know pass from cancer these past few years and it has made me a full-blown hypochondriac. i just had a baby 3 months ago and i am terrified of dying and leaving her behind...what could this pain possibly be?

  2. I can't guess what it could be, but if you're really this frightened, you should go see a doctor. It's an obvious answer, I know, but just ask your general practitioner to recommend a specialist, and see him or her straightaway.

It may be nothing; it may be something. Either way, you'll have some peace of mind, I hope, after you've seen someone about it. There's no use wasting your energy terrified of what you could or could not have. Go to a doctor, have it checked out, and spend that energy with your daughter!

  3. You should see a doctor to get that checked out specifically. It's probably nothing serious though.

  4. Sounds like you may have strained a muscle..if it only hurts in a certain possition.  You may have a fractured or just bruised (not show in x-ray) rib.  Don't bend in the position that makes it hurt..let it heal.  HUGS@!!

  5. it could be a number of things, you need to relax! i understand that youre paranoid i am too cause my dad died from cancer so im so health conscious, you need to relax cause stress brings on illnesses as well!

  6. need more info type of pain, radiation, problems with ur birth etc...write as much as u want or add me on msn furry-dog@hotmail.com

  7. no worries maybe its just stress that is causing it

  8. Take a deep breath.  You're very likely just fine.  I know after I had my first daughter, I pulled a muscle and had some pain in my abdomen.  It lasted for a a few months.  It was from all the lifting, which I wasn't used to.  But please, go to the doctor because you're worried and you're probably wasting your time worrying.  You should be spending that time enjoying your new baby.  If, when the doctor checks you out, she finds nothing wrong, go and talk to a therapist about your anxiety.  Now, call your doctor.
