  1. This is easy and safe. You'll be seeing them marching right out the door afterwards. Ants hate orange oil and lemon oil! They won't put up with it. You can get it at most markets. By the way, termites hate it also! Byee This is no joke also!

  2. The ant baits work the best.

Every couple of years we get tons of them in our basement. Once they search the house they end up in the kitchen. Tried the sprays, they don't last. Picked up some ant baits at the supermarket. The Combat Source Kill worked best. Raid Ant Baits worked too, but took about 3 times as long.

It will take about a week (or 3) for them to work, depending on how far the colony is away from the spot you found them. But once they are gone, they don't come back.

  3. After you use the lemon oil or orange oil sprinkle some talc powder at the edges and entrances to the rooms.  This will also keep spiders out.

  4. Cinnamon. Find where they are coming into your house (follow the ant trail) and sprinkle cinnamon all along the outside (and inside, if you don't have light carpet) wall in that area. It worked wonders in our house this spring, and I like the solution much better than pesticides.

  5. There are many "ant homes" in which the ants eat some food, go back to their colonies, and die there, often spreading the poison to the other ants. It took care of my dorm room

  6. Simple, baby powder does wonders

  7. I have heard you can mix borax with powder sugar and just pour a thin line where the ants are.  Also heard that if you use grits the ants will eat them and then die. Has anyone else heard this?  I personally like the ant bait traps.

  8. Well, on of the organic ways to get rid of ants, is to spray them with vinegar.

Mixed some vinegar with water and used to spray the ants.

Another way is to sprinkle cinnamon, mint, chili pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves or garlic – whichever one you happen to have in the area where you've seen ants.

Regarding flies, you can get rid of them by cutting some lemons and sticking cloves into them, like the pic below.*This idea is used in seafood restaurants)

    Good Luck!

  9. Sorry, but if the ants are that bad you will have to call an exterminator.  You don't want them getting to your food, clothing, and bedding.

  10. Better living through chemicals!!!!!!  Call an exterminator or get some Ortho Max Home Defense and a garden sprayer and get rid of them yourself.

  11. Ants absolutely hate pepper. What i do is I mix pepper and water in  a  bottle and i spray it on the floor. Doesn't kill them but  they go away !
