HELP! I hit a car, with a car that I'm not insured under?

I backed up into a parked car, with my parents car. I am still a minor, and we have Allstate insurance. I have not told my parents yet (please give me some advice on how to tell them) and if I the owner of the car that I hit claims insurance, would our insurance cover it? Will our rates go up?

  1. Yes  your parents insurance will cover the loss.

As a parent, just come clean.  tell them you know it was your fault and that you're sorry and you'll be much more careful next time.  You may even want to get a part-time job to help with the reate increase that's bound to occur because of this.  Most parent's are aware their children will get into an accident.  At least you didn't pull out in front of someone, or was speeding, or was on a cell phone.  No one was hurt.  These are all good things.  Hopefully your parents will understand

  2. Did the car you hit owner saw you?

Did you hit it hard?did u damage it?

Just tell them the truth....sure if it is serious they will freak out on....but if the car isnt damaged much and the other car owners did see you.....just let it be....dont say or do anything

  3. tell the truth, take your hits

do you have a license, valid.

insurance may not require a police report.  sounds like from the damage amount, one is required from your state.

did your parents specifically exclude you from the policy?

rates will most likely go up.
