Well, my 2nd Anniversary is coming up soon and I don't know where to go. I'm not very good in being romantic but I really want to surprise her this year. I want to take her out to place where we can hang out for the afternoon and have a nice place to have dinner.

BTW, I live in Long Beach, CA and I will be willing to drive one hour.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. TIA.

  1. doode simple prep the night before and make her, her favorite  food... and a kute dessert! my second year my bf baked me a carrot cake and hide a necklace inside but with of course the box and plastic wrap... that made my day...  bake her something and or if you really can't cook take her to buca di beppo... or j*p. food or woodranch grill.  but if you want it to be special where she'll remember it... cook for her! it comes from the heart... think within and lay out what she likes and love... if you don't no, ask her friends, and family members.

but again if not cooking then just think of something you both never had and go somewhere

  2. There are a few places right in long beach if you haven't gone already.

Parker's light house is a very nice restaurant. A good 4 starr place. It is over in the shoreline village. If you sit inside or out you will have a great view of the ocean and the queen Mary.

You can also take her to Sir Winston's on the queen Mary, this one is a little more pricey but if you stay on the queen Mary you will get a discount.

The opera house down on pine is another great spot.

Orange Hill (in orange) is always a romantic spot, nice long road to the top and it has an incredible view.

I hope this helps you out a bit.

  3. downtown disney has great places there

  4. You could ride the Coaster down to San Diego.   This way you can watch the scenery go by and sit on the side where you pass by the water.   This way you won't have the unknown price of gas and you can sit right next to her with your arm around her!!!!  It would be great riding back in the evening and watching the city lights you pass by.

There is the Gas Lamp district with many romantic dining places day or night........it isn't too far down to the water where there are more dining places.........They have a trolley you can hop on too....check out their day pass.  There are some maritime museums......and shops inland and on the water.

  5. try the rodeo dr area. shopping in the afternoon and dinner at a really nice restaurant. you might want to make reservations first though. if you want steak, there's CUT, a wolfgang puck restaurant. and right around the corner spago which is still a nice restaurant, but with a more casual feel than cut. http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/restaurants/...

there's also a bunch of other restaurants around the area. here's a link where you can pick one.

    hope this helps!

  7. universal city walk lots to do up there

  8. It kind of depends on what you are wanting to spend, you know?

    Here are some options!

In Long Beach - Parker's Lighthouse - seafood restaurant on the pricey side

Seal Beach - Walt's Wharf on Main St - pretty $$ but if you go, I recommend the artichoke appetizer!!! Seafood restaurant and it gets really busy, so if you go, you can put your name in then walk around Main Street

    Sunset Beach

Roman Cucina - Italian - moderately priced, but it's yummy and the patio is covered with twinkle lights

Captain Jacks - pretty $$$ and known for the DELISH crab legs - so good.

    Newport

Villa Nova - Italian right on PCH - ask for a seat to see outside

Rusty Pelican - on PCH - good seafood, but they have steaks too

Billys - also on PCH - good seafood also steaks

Oh in Brea there is a restaurant called Cedar Creek Inn and I looked at the website - there is one in Laguna too, but I went to the Brea one - the patio had twinkle lights and there was a piano player in the bar. The prices were reasonable and it was romantic

Here's one last idea. In Newport Beach they have a few places that offer Gondola rides - they are very romantic looking (I see them all of the time down there) - this isn't the only place that does it but you'll know what I mean http://www.gondola.com/Services.asp - I just yahoo searched it and I think they do some in Long beach too

You could do a gondola ride followed up with a nice homemade dinner and dessert at your place! Just plan a meal that you don't have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen making and make sure the table is set before you leave the house :)

    Good luck!
