"Honor thy Father and thy Mother" I have broken this commandment, I have prayed to God to forgive me and have repented....but still I know this will not help. I have apologized to my parents, and have their forgiveness, but still feel terrible and I need to know....is there any way for me to gain God's forgiveness for this??

Matthew 15:8-10

I feel awful, and just want to know, for the breaking of a commandment...is forgiveness possible?

  1. When you believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then you are forgiven ALL SINS past, present, and future.

Do you believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ?  If so, then you are forgiven all sins past, present, and future.  Thank Jesus for His amazing gift of His love  :)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is this:  The truth is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal h**l is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you are saved!

Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)

  2. of course forgiveness is possible for breaking a commandment, if it wasn't we would all be going to h**l

    just keep praying

  3. Yes, just keep doing what you are doing. Make sure you honor your parents. Nothing good ever comes from not doing so

Forgiveness has already come. God has impressed upon you how important this is.

  4. Read Romans 3:19-31

Also Romans chapters 5 and 6.

Christians are forgiven. Just say thank you to Jesus for bearing the load of your sin on the cross and dying for you in your place, and being raised on the 3rd day so that you also are free from the penalty of sin and are not bound by the chains of death and h**l.

  5. 16 ¶ Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

    Isa 1:17

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

    Isa 1:18

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

    Forgive yourself.

  6. go to confession

  7. Just ask for forgiveness and thats it!

  8. We live by the grace of God. Just pray to him and ask for his forgiveness and he will forgive you. You can talk with God! Just ask for forgiveness.

  9. According to christians forgiveness is possible.

  10. What did you do?

  11. Ezek 18:21  "But if the wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

Ezek 18:22  "All his transgressions which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live.

Ezek 18:23  "Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord GOD, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?

Statutes and commandments of righteousness can only be found in the Torah "Law" of YHVH.

Deu 4:8  "Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today?

Psa 119:142  Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Thy law is truth.

Isa 42:21  The LORD was pleased for His righteousness' sake To make the law great and glorious.

Isa 51:7  "Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of man, Neither be dismayed at their revilings.

Rom 7:12  So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

Rom 3:31  Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

  12. Yes.

  13. When we sin, we may carry the crushing burden of a pained conscience. This feeling of remorse is healthy. It can move us to take positive steps to correct our mistakes. There is, however, a danger of becoming overwhelmed by guilt. Our self-condemning heart might insist that Jehovah will not forgive us, no matter how repentant we are. If we become “swallowed up” by guilt, Satan may try to get us to give up, to feel that Jehovah views us as worthless, unfit to serve him.—2 Corinthians 2:5-11.

Is that how Jehovah views matters? Not at all! Forgiveness is a facet of Jehovah’s great love. In his Word, he assures us that when we manifest genuine, heartfelt repentance, he is willing to forgive. (Proverbs 28:13) Lest Jehovah’s forgiveness ever seem unattainable to us.

Jehovah is aware of our limitations. “He himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust,” says Psalm 103:14. He does not forget that we are creatures of dust, having frailties, or weaknesses, as a result of imperfection.

Jehovah understands how powerful sin is. His Word describes sin as a potent force that has man in its deadly grip.

He lovingly assures us that when we seek his mercy with a contrite heart, he will extend forgiveness. Psalm 51:17 says: “The sacrifices to God are a broken spirit; a heart broken and crushed, O God, you will not despise.” Jehovah will never reject, or turn away, a heart that is “broken and crushed” by the burden of guilt.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12, The Amplified Bible) How far is east from west? In a sense, east is always at the utmost distance imaginable from west; the two points can never meet.

    respectfully,

    Simone

  14. If you have repented and asked God to forgive you, he has forgiven you.

Got it?  You have gained God's forgiveness.  Even if you don't feel forgiven, you ARE, and to keep going on about it is just being foolish and self-indulgent.  Snap out of it.

You say your parents have forgiven you.  Now you must forgive yourself.
