I want to study abroad. I'm a jr in high school right now. I'm thinking of studying in Paris in my sr year. Is that a good idea or should I study abroad in college?

What are some programs you would recommend taking a look at?

I want to have a career in music. Would studying abroad let me flourish in that? Would I be able to find schools or teachers where ever I ended up? I play the flute and I know it's what I want my career to be.

I also need an affordable program... unless I win the lottery... yeah right. Any info you can offer will be much appreciated!!! Thanks! :]

  1. If you're going to study abroad during your senior year you might end up having to do another year at your high school when you get back. This all depends on how many credits you have and if your school will except credits from your exchange school. But there have been students who have graduated from their exchange school so I suggest that you talk to your guidance councilor about this and also to the exchange program that you wish to go through.

I would highly recommend going through AFS for a high school exchange.

You can go either a semester or a year but I would go with a full year to get the most out of it. Now these programs aren't exactly cheap but you can sign up for scholarships and do fund raising.

    Good Luck!
