HELP! I need to e-mail a document from InDesign!?

Question

I need to figure out how to e-mail a document I created in InDesign to someone's email address. This needs to happen in the next 30 minutes-60 minutes.

How do I do this?

I know there's something called packaging..and i didnt really understand that fully. it isn't my laptop that this is on so i dont really want to mess around and save things to random places.

its saved on my flashdrive and a folder on the desktop right now, but how do i get this to an email message so someone else can view my document?

It depends on the size of the document. Most emails have a limit of 10MB so if it's larger than this you will have to split it and then the receiver would join it back together to view the complete file.

I use http://www.filesplitter.org/ and I can instruct you how to use it if email me.

EDIT: Sorry, if it's under this then you would add an attachment then browse to your  pen drives location and select the file. You then select attach and wait until it tells you it's been attached successfully then continue on to the message and email as normal.

Packaging gathers all the items (document, color settings, pictures, fonts, etc) into one folder. This will only work if the other person has indesign- if not, they won't be able to open it. And if you are going mac to pc or vice versa, you might have fonts issues depending on what type of fonts you are using. If you are sending something for proofing purposes, only go to export as a pdf. Make a pdf of it and send it as an attachment. If the file size is not too big, sending it press ready (a setting on the pdf) is best, because it embeds the fonts, so you won't have any issues with them defaulting. Also, even though it seems obvious, be sure to actually look at the pdf before you send it to the person, to make sure it is correct, and displays as it should.
