I over fertilized my dieffenbachia best known as dumb cane. It is in a six inch pot, i flushed it down. However, I am concerned that flushing it down causes over watering and may end up dieing. Should I just re pot? Should I just leave it alone for now?

  1. That will probably just make the fertilizer more available, which your plant does not need.

Better would be to repot it in soil that has not been treated with fertilizer.

  2. The good news is that it is in a pot, not in the ground.  Water, Water, Water.  You can flush most of the fertilizer from the pot.  Water until water is pouring out of the bottom of the pot, and just keep watering, I would flush for at least 15 min.  Hope this helps.  Don't water frequentley, but a one time dose of overwatering will not hurt your plant.
