Question:

HELP - I saw the most distressing sight this afternoon?

It was a large animal, which has obviously been horrendously badly treated/neglected. I rang the USPCA (I live in N Ireland) who gave me another number of a different body to ring and report it to one of their veterinary officers, but guess what - they all left at 5pm and I cannot speak to anybody until tomorrow morning. There is no emergency number and nobody on call.

What should I do? Anybody got any advice? It would be most appreciated. That poor animal does not deserve to suffer another night.

  1. If you can handle yourself , your tone and your emotions, approach the animal's owner and ask if he would be willing to sell you the animal.

If you cannot afford to buy the animal, or have no place to keep him, get together with some friends and see if you all can come up with something.

You could also try to feed and water the animal.  You could talk to the owner and tell him you've noticed that he just hasn't had time to work with his animal and ask if you could work with him.

Please don't give up.  Help this animal!

  2. What sort of animal was it?  I would step in and remove the animal myself and resuce it. I know that is not legal, but I would do it anyway. As a human beeing I would owe that to a poor, helpless creature. It is up to you, follow your heart.

  3. Contact the police or ring local vets, they usually have a 24 hour emergency service.

  4. What should u do? Worry about something a little more important.

  5. what about the police? or you could be brave and try and rescue the animal yourself!

  6. yep phone the police....and just found a 24hr emergency line for the rspca.......http://www.rspca.org.uk/servlet/Satellit...

  7. The Police will get an emergency vet.

  8. Phone the rspca again and see if they can help or the police. Someone will be able to help - animals cant be expected to just be mistreated in office hours!

  9. grr.... how can people harm animals that makes me mad!call the police.FAST

  10. you can call a animal hospital most are open 24/7 around here

  11. where ws the animal and have you access to it now? if so call the police and they will recommend what step to take.

  12. just leave it alone! it dont need you pestering it!! just leave it to suffer another night!!

  13. Phone your local vets ASAP

  14. Kill it, put it out of it's misery. If it's horrendously injured then the likelihood of it being saved and living a normal life is very slim.

  15. Call the police and ask for their help
