Question:

HELP!!!! I think something is wrong with my pet mouse!?

I got three mice in October last year from a local petshop, one of whom died about three months ago. In the last day I've noticed some of the same symptoms occuring in one of my remaining mice, the oldest one. She was an adult when I got her, so I understand that she is probably a geriatric but I don't want her to die! When I pick her up she feels really light. Probably about half the body weight of the other one, and she looks like she's losing weight. I can't monitor how much she is eating because they share food and the other one is big on food (she hides it, throws it away, eats it, shares it god knows what else). For the same reason I have no idea how much she is drinking. At the moment the one who I think is sick is sitting on the back of my neck, normally I can feel a warm weight there but at the moment I feel nothing yet I know she's there. What should I do? I'm really worried about her. The other mouse keeps mothering her which she did to the deceased one just before she died!

  1. hand feed her whatever she will eat, try monkey nuts, raisens, sultanas, unsalted peanuts, babymilk from a suringe or some cream from a suringe. good luck

  2. .She's on heat and need a male. They do this every 6 weeks

  3. this happened to my mice. try and put them in seperate cages and feed the ill one more food, maybe give it extra treats etc to help it gain weight.
